Sirpa Pajunen-Moghissi

by Joanna Gore on January 12, 2012

Sirpa Pajunen-Moghissi’s paintings are suggestive of the hazy lines and shapes that evoke the snow-covered landscapes of her native Finland. These paintings are memories and moments frozen in time.

In her latest work Sirpa uses her mothers Seija-Marita Guttormsen’s woodcuts as a starting point. Her woodcuts are either embossed on paper or the image is created using acrylic medium into canvas. Layered with her mothers image she then uses spray paints and acrylic paints to merge her story with her mothers.

Sirpa Pajunen-Moghissi studied fine art (BA and MA in Fine Art) in London and has been involved in many exhibitions in UK and abroad as well as teaching and mentoring art students.
