JO FEAKES – Nutritional Therapist – BSc Nut Med, BEng (Hons), ACGI, mBANT

Jo offers one-to-one nutritional therapy consultations and workshops. She works with people of all ages and various health conditions, and her areas of interest include weight management, digestive issues and hormonal imbalance particularly PMS, menopause, thyroid & adrenal dysfunction.

Good food is essential to good health and wellbeing but there is more to nutritional therapy than the mere basics of healthy eating. Our bodies are each biochemically unique so foods beneficial to one person may not necessarily be so to another. Providing the body with the correct nutrition for its individual needs will improve its inner balance, and improve energy levels, concentration, weight and overall health.

Nutritional therapy is personalised nutritional advice that applies nutrition science to promote optimum health, wellbeing and disease prevention. The process uses investigative methods such as addressing hormonal, gastro-intestinal or metabolic imbalances, nutritional deficiencies or toxin overload, and careful history taking to analyse signs and symptoms of ill-health.

Improving your diet can greatly enhance your quality of life however it can be challenging and difficult to manage alone, especially without adequate guidance. Jo aims to provide a supportive environment by working closely with you to develop personalised nutrition programmes that suit your lifestyle and use the right combination of foods (and where necessary nutritional supplements) so it is enjoyable, achievable and easy to follow.
Most health conditions can be helped and supported through proper nutrition. Nutritional therapy can be used to optimise, support and manage:

  • digestive health
  • energy levels
  • healthy weight
  • hormonal and emotional balance
  • thyroid function
  • healthy immunity
  • wellbeing if under personal or work-related stress
  • skin and musculoskeletal health
  • fertility
  • children’s health

Jo holds a BSc degree in Nutritional Medicine from Thames Valley University (now University of Westminster), and is a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT).
